Treatments
Treatments are always individual to the patient and their unique presentation and history. No two cases are ever the same, even though they may have a similar presentation of symptoms.
After taking a case history, Tim will use his hands to detect variations from the normal form and function of the body, to diagnose and treat the cause of the condition found.
Tim’s treatments are gentle in nature and don’t involve “cracking” joints to effect a change in the tissues.
Although this type of manipulation can be effective, a lot of patients prefer a more gentle approach. Osteopathy isn’t about the techniques used by the practitioner, but more about finding cause.
Tim has had extensive training and experience in more gentle treatment approaches such as cranial and biodynamic osteopathy, and he is more and more heavily influenced by the traditional philosophy and principles described by the founder of osteopathy, Dr A.T. Still.
Tim enjoys treating people of all ages, including children, and particularly enjoys treating difficult cases, that haven’t responded to other modalities of treatment.
Tim
Tim has been practicing as an osteopath since graduating from RMIT in 2004.
He spent his first 3 years of practice in Hamilton NZ, after which he returned to Melbourne and has since worked at Hillside Osteopathy in Glen Iris (hillsideosteopathy.com.au).
During this time Tim has done extensive post graduate training, including spending several years travelling to the USA to participate in a small study group with Dr. James Jealous DO, who founded the biodynamics of osteopathy in the cranial field.
Tim grew up in Warrnambool in country Victoria, and has really enjoyed moving back out of the city to settle in Mount Eliza with his partner Claire and their two girls.
